Despite the fact that I was devastated to move to Edmonton, I have to admit that it has definitely been a cultural experience and one I am glad to have had at that. You see,
I am Canadian.
I will buy almost anything with a Canadian flag on it. My favourite store is Roots, my favourite band is Great Big Sea, I love Sarah Harmer and I count Margaret Atwood and Chris Hadfield as two of the people I would most like to meet…okay, I’ve met Margaret Atwood, but it would be great to have an actual conversation with her.
Being in Edmonton has created the opportunity to do things that the rest of the world deems truly Canadian. This weekend was no exception. Jakob had an outdoor hockey tournament. Aside from Friday, when it was too warm to play on the outdoor rink, it was hockey, hockey and more hockey.
