I have a hard time relaxing. I will be the first to admit that. As long as I am at home, I can always find something to do be it vacuum, organize, cook, work, garden, create ridiculous make-work projects that are, in the eyes of my husband totally unnecessary. I’m a busy body, I admit it.
But get me out in nature, preferably near a body of water and my muscles immediately relax, my blood pressure drops and I become a generally better version of myself. Given the busyness of the past couple months, a little retreat was much needed so I took the counsel of some good friends and booked our family into Jasper Park Lodge. We only had a couple days but it was enough time to take a walk around beautiful Lac Beauvert, have a coffee in town, swim in the pool and enjoy a few lovely meals at the lodge. There is much that I could say about it but I will let the photos do most of the talking.
It’s no Tofino – nowhere ever will be but I have to admit, Alberta has some very beautiful landscapes and while Jasper Park Lodge is completely unaffordable for us under most circumstances, we are grateful for all of the extras that make their customer service just one reason this resort is regarded as one of the best in Canada.
